in regards to the new policies of the 'official' JB discussion list....

Okay...

I swear to God, I have never been more frustrated, more annoyed, more irritated, more angry with a group of self-appointed, self-centered, self-righteous, selfish, bitchy bunch of Neo-Nazi moderators than I am right at this moment with those running the Official JB discussion list.

They have always been proprietary [this started back when George created to the original list and was webmaster to the original website]. Somehow it always came across that they 'owned' John and news about his activities. They made being on a moderated list like being watched by Big Brother. It is truly impossible to have real discussion without one of them injecting [in the middle of someone else's email] their opinion - much less having to state in detail 'why they had to go in and edit a post that didn't follow their guidelines' - can't tell you how many times I've wanted to quote one those explanations and add my reply of "For God's sake, get off the cross already, someone else needs the wood!"

I could never quite wrap my head around why discussions about shows starring John [i.e. Torchwood, Doctor Who, etc.] were time-limited but OT discussions could go on for days without being yanked off the list. Where was the logic in that?

And now posts about sharing downloads of videos that are not and in all likelihood will never be available for home video purchase are banned. Why? Because they wish to protect John. Really? It's not like what is stated on the discussion list are personally approved by John or express with HIS personal views or beliefs. A simple disclaimer should be enough to 'protect' him.

But no - now posters - especially those in the UK - will no doubt come on and post about how wonderful it was to see John on 'Loose Women' or 'Paul O'Grady' or similar show and it will tantalize those of us outside the UK but we won't be able to download a copy to see it. And for anyone advising we use BBC iPlayer or ITV player, etc. - those generally do NOT work for anyone outside the U.K.

It's rather like dangling a bag of sweets in front of us, telling us how wonderful and delicious they are but snatching them back because we don't happen to live in the right country - the U.K.

I really wonder if John is at all aware of just how much bad karma the moderators of his 'official' discussion list are spreading among his fans?
