pfyre | the wonders of hibiscus....

so a couple of years ago my mom got a hibiscus plant at the end of the summer on discount - she didn't really think it would do much but was told she could plant it outside in the spring and it should do well...

the first two pics in the gallery below are from the summer of 2008 - the plant had about 4 blooms and that was it but they were nice blooms about 6 to 8 inches across....

then this last Fall she got another hibiscus plant with yellow blooms [the three pics of the yellow blooms] - from early this summer - there were only three of them and they were about 4 or 5 inches across....

soooo the red hibiscus decided to go bonkers! - so far it's had at least 20 blooms - although the initial dozen or so were the largest - measuring in at 9 to 10 inches across easily....
